Movie Trailer for "The River Thief"

Check out this trailer for my upcoming movie “The River Thief”. We filmed this in Idaho during the summer of 2014. It was written, directed, produced, and filmed here in my hometown and in Lewiston, Idaho.

Written and Directed by award winning author N.D. Wilson, prioduced by Aaron Rench of Gorilla Poet Productions, and distributed by Freestyle Digital Media, we had an amazing cast including Paul Johansson (One Tree Hill), MMA Champion Bas Rutten (Here Comes the Boom), and American country singer-songwriter Tommy Cash (brother of Johnny Cash).

Here's a quick plot summary:

Diz (Joel Courtney) is a reckless teenage drifter living life on the run. Abandoned by his parents as a child, he looks out for himself and doesn't accept handouts. He takes whatever he wants and runs. Jaded and determined to answer to no one, Diz lives a life marked by thievery and abandonment. Things change for Diz when he floats into a small town on the Snake River. There he is confronted by an unflappable old man named Marty and falls for Marty's guarded granddaughter, Selah. When Diz robs a local drug-dealing crazy, he becomes the owner of a giant pile of cash and the target of two vicious killers. With more money than he knows what to do with, and criminals at his heels, Diz puts the people he's learned to care about in danger, still trying to win Selah. But some things can't be stolen or bought. The River Thief is a film about guilt, self-sacrifice, and accepting life as a gift.

The movie will be in theaters on October 14, 2016.

"Dear Eleanor" Is Released

My latest movie "Dear Eleanor" is now available online. You can watch it at:

Here's a quick description:

In 1962, in the shadow of the Cuban Missile Crisis, two teenage girls (Isabelle Fuhrman and Liana Liberato) break out of their normal life, jump in the car and embark on a trip across the country in search of the former First Lady of the United States, Eleanor Roosevelt. Their Thelma & Louise cross-country adventure is a mix of hilarious joy ride and an empowering personal odyssey that not only tests their friendship for the first time but also lands the girls in jail.

Besides Isabelle, Linana, and I, the movie also stars Jessica Alba, Josh Lucas, Ione Skye, Luke Wilson, Paul Johansson, Claire van der Boom, and Patrick Schwarzenegger.

Variety: YouTube’s Fine Brothers Announce First Film, Comedy ‘F*&% the Prom’

From Variety

Movie starring Danielle Campbell, Joel Courtney produced with Big Block

Fine Brothers Entertainment, the team behind the popular YouTube “React” series, together with Big Block have kicked off production of feature-length teen comedy “F*&% the Prom.”

The film stars Danielle Campbell (“The Originals,” Disney Channel’s “StarStruck”), Joel Courtney (“Super 8”), Ian Ziering (“Sharknado”) and Cheri Oteri (“Saturday Night Live”). Cast also includes Meg DeLacy (“Side Effects”), Cameron Palatas (“Zach Stone Is Gonna Be Famous”), Madelaine Petsch (“Riverdale”), Luke Bilyk (“Degrassi: The Next Generation”) and YouTube lifestyle v-logger Jill Cimorelli.

Fine Brothers Entertainment’s Benny Fine is set to direct from a script he co-wrote with his brother, Rafi, and Molly Prather. Production on the film, expected to last a month, began in Los Angeles on April 1.

“I’m excited to bring to life FBE’s first feature, going back to my roots as a filmmaker and diving into a film that is funny with a beating heart,” Benny Fine said in a statement.

The parties did not announce a release date or distribution plan for “F*&% the Prom,” which had the working title “Text Me When It’s Over.”

In “F*&% the Prom,” Maddy (Danielle Campbell, pictured above) and Cole (Joel Courtney) were inseparable friends until high school started and Maddy became the most popular girl on campus. When Maddy finds herself suddenly single and heartbroken, she reconnects with Cole and the duo conspire to destroy the ultimate teen popularity contest — the prom.

...

Scott Prisand of Big Block and Dylan Vox are set to produce alongside the two Fine brothers. Jamie Bendell of Big Block will executive produce.

“The Fine Brothers are tremendously talented at creating content that speaks to the digital zeitgeist, which is exactly the type of work that Big Block is all about,” Prisand said in a statement. “‘F*&% the Prom’ is a project that fits perfectly within both of our wheelhouses.”

The Fine Brothers are represented by WME. The real-life brothers, best known for their “React” YouTube channels, have a combined 19 million subscribers and over 5 billion lifetime video views.

Fine Brothers Entertainment now has more than 50 employees, producing videos for YouTube and other platforms. Most recently, the company teamed with Mandeville Films for YouTube Red’s upcoming half-hour comedy “Sing It,” satirizing TV singing competitions, slated to premiere this spring. FBE also has collaborated with Nick Cannon for Nickelodeon’s spin-off of their online series, “ReactToThat,” and produced a fan-centric program that accompanied the recent season finales of Freeform hit series “Pretty Little Liars.”
