With a little more than two weeks until Super Bowl XLV, Hollywood is finalizing its plan to take advantage of the most-watched television event of the year.

J.J. Abrams' Super 8 to be Shown on IMAX Screens

J.J. Abrams' Super 8 to be Shown on IMAX Screens

J.J. Abrams' latest alien monster film Super 8 will be given the IMAX experience according to DreadCentral. I think why not, I mean we have possible giant monsters running amok, so it makes sense to show that on a freaking huge screen. The only downside is the extra cash you will have to splash out to view the film on a bigger screen, so is it worth it?

Super 8 will be shown in IMAX on the same day as normal screens on June 10, 2011.

Super 8 is written & directed by J.J. Abrams  with Steven Spielberg as executive producer, the film stars Kyle Chandler, Elle Fanning, Ron Eldard, Noah Emmerich, Gabriel Basso, Joel Courtney, Riley Griffiths, Ryan Lee, Zach Mills, and AJ Michalka.

The film is said to follow a bunch of kids who are shooting a movie on a super 8 camera in possibly the seventies or eighties, when they develop the film they notice they captured an alien on film.

I cannot wait for this, along with Battle: Los Angeles, I say, bring on the aliens!

Top 10 Most Anticipated Blockbuster Movies of 2011

ScreenCrave lists Super 8 as one of the "Top 10 Most Anticipated Blockbuster Movies of 2011".

Here's the quote:

Super 8 is to 2011 what Inception was to 2010. JJ Abrams has been extremely secretive about the project and thanks to an allusive trailer that showed us absolutely nothing we’re ready to see what all the hype’s about. Super 8 is supposed to center on the transportation of a “package” from Area 51 to another top secret location, but unfortunately it never makes it to its destination. Instead it arrives in a small town called Lillian, which puts the locals in a whole heap of danger. We have no idea what the package is or what it looks like. So in the words of Brad Pitt from David Fincher’s Seven we want to know, “What’s in the box?!”
